Dr Neil Waddell BVSc

Practice Principal, Veterinarian
Neil was born in Devonport, grew up at Hauraki Corner and has been working here at Shore Vets for 25 years.
Neil graduated form Massey University in 1984 and he has worked chiefly in companion animal practice with a particular interest in surgery. He has practiced both in the United Kingdom, & New Zealand.
He lives locally with his wife Jenni, who has been a GP in Belmont for the last 26 years. Together they have 3 children and one granddaughter. Outside the clinic Neil likes to relax by playing the piano, cycling, swimming, and reading.
Dr Tania Krupitza BVSc

Veterinarian
Tania graduated from Massey University Veterinary School in 1988. Since then she has travelled widely and worked in practice in the United Kingdom, South Africa & New Zealand. She has been at Shore Vets since 2004.
Tania has a special interest in Small Animal Medicine and in 2011 she completed a year-long Postgraduate course in Emergency Medicine. In 2014 she also completed a Post Graduate paper in Clinical Pathology.
Tania lives with her rescue dog Tui.
Her interests include horse riding holidays in countries all over the world. She also enjoys music, yoga, kayaking and exercise.
Dr Amy King DVM BSc.Ag - Veterinarian
Amy is originally from Nova Scotia, Canada and obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2005. She has lived and practiced in several different countries including New Zealand, Australia, Denmark and the Netherlands, where she spent a year teaching vet students at Utrecht University. She has been settled here in New Zealand since 2012 and happily joined Shore Vets in March 2021.
Amy spends half of her time in Auckland and the other half in Thames with her three children.
Her interests include traveling, music, yoga and growing food in the garden.
Lyn Spathis -
Veterinary Nurse
Lyn has been a Vet Nurse for 40 years. She also runs puppy class and has a dog walking business. Lyn has two lovely Border Collies, Gusto and Cobber, and a Ocicat named Baci. Lyn's interests outside of work include photography, travel and she is a certified foodie.
Nikkita Kayser-Murray -
Veterinary Nurse
Nikkita is originally from North Shore Auckland and has always had a passion for animals from a
young age. Nikkita has been practicing Vet Nursing since 2021 and has been working with exotics
and small animals before joining our team in November 2022..
Nikkita has 2 Guinea Pigs of her own that she adores and is a huge dog person. In her spare time she
loves to go for hikes around NZ with her partner, read books and socialize with her friends.
Annika Holmqvist
- Veterinary Nurse
Annika arrived in New Zealand in 1987 on a yacht from Sweden and has made NZ home. She has been a Vet Nurse since 2010. Annika has a rescue cat (torti) called Zelda. In her spare time she enjoys adventurous travel, and keeping fit and healthy.
Rachelle Bakewell

Veterinary Administrator / Receptionist
Rachelle was born in New Zealand. She has lived in Auckland, Wellington and the United Kingdom, and has travelled extensively around Europe. Rachelle has owned and lived with various animals over the years including various fish, cats, guinea pigs, cats and a dog.
Over the years she has worked in various jobs including but not limited to Reception, Graphic Design, Mac Operator, Television Paginator, and Finishing Artist work. Rachelle has been working for Shore Vets since October 2017.
Rachelle is a mum of two young girls. When she has spare time she enjoys photography and fitness. She has participated in numerous running events including: Round the Bays five times, The North London Half Marathon once and the Auckland Half Marathon twice.
Landon McNaughton
- Veterinary Receptionist
Landon was born in London, Ontario-Canada and immigrated to New Zealand with her husband in 1996 and they have a son. She enjoys travelling, reading and hanging out at the beach. She has welcomed many animals into her home over the years including mice, guinea pigs, skinny pigs, rabbits and dogs.
Tui
- General dogsbody / Mental health services
Tui comes from the Far North and she is part time receptionist, puppy socialiser and she provides mental health services for all the staff. Rescue Special/Argentinian water dog, she loves licking ears and washing brains, and destroying squeaky toys. Her favourite spot is the window seat where she acts as clinic lookout and provides meet and greet services.
